UNDERSTANDING WHITETAIL WATER INTAKE

Whitetails need at least 2-3 gallons per 100lbs of body weight per day. Deer in the Midwest that weigh up to 200lbs will need to drink nearly 6 gallons of water per day.

MAXIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES

Water holes and food plots paired with strategic stand locations will increase the chances that your target buck will come within range.

WATER HOLE CONSTRUCTION

Dig out a bowl-shaped hole 5' deep in the center. Once the hole is dug, place a liner over the hole to ensure it holds water. Once the liner is down and secure, cover with clean dirt that was removed from the hole to give the water hole a natural look for the deer.
